Matrifen® is a transdermal fentanyl patch indicated for patients with hypoventilation and severe chronic pain such as cancer pain and other chronic distressing pain.

It is beneficial for patients with respiratory depression, hypoventilation, cognitive impairment, peripheral diabetic neuropathy, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and cancer pain and is approximately 50 to 100 times as potent as morphine.
