>> Information on the transdermally applied fentanyl patch Matrifen®

Matrifen® (transdermally applied fentanyl patch) provides pain relief to patients with prolonged or chronic severe pain. Following application of the patch to the skin, fentanyl is released into the systemic circulation by passive cutaneous diffusion.

Transdermally applied fentanyl has a high affinity for receptors located throughout the peripheral nervous system, the brain and the spinal cord, and binding to the receptors cause analgesia.
